After much struggle and debate I have finally got a title for my thesis which I intend to submit for examination next week:
Sex, Slogans, and Σώματα:
Discovering Paul's Theological Ethic in 1 Corinthians 6:12-20
Should sell like hot cakes.
[This is an extract from my essay "Breaking Bread: The Power of Hospitality in the Gospel of Mark" which you can read in full and ...
The working title had been "Paul's somatic theology of fornication: an exegesis of 1 Cor 6:12-20". Which my supervisor didn't like. On balance I think the new one is better anyway, although i'm sad not to have used the word fornication.
ReplyDeleteNice. What does Σώματα mean?
ReplyDelete"bodies" would be a standard gloss
ReplyDeletebut because bodies didn't start with an S, somata was the alliteration friendly option!
ReplyDeleteAlliteration and sex, it should indeed sell :)
ReplyDelete:-D you know i'm in it for the money!
