Mega Pastors' Management Philosophy ;-)

  1. This is pretty true. I attend a large church, though not huge. We have about 1200-1400 per weekend. The prevailing philosophy is that small group leaders (i.e. me) are the pastor of that group, and that the small group pastor pastors the leaders. The children's pastor shepherds the workers, etc. At the same time, they are not dropping their pastoral role with the church body. Instead they have chosen to focus on training up other leaders or ministers or whatever you want to call it.

  2. HI Justin, yes it was a bit cheeky of me to put that up, i had in mind a "conversation" i had once with the pastor of a mega-church, he didn't react very well to my imput and the next week preached a sermon on "church protocol" which included injuctions never to question the pastor or his message! ;-) suffice to say i try and push a different philosophy.
